Lift & Slide Doors

— Panoramic Views, Effortless Movement

Large-format glazed doors that glide open with a single movement — for living spaces defined by light and uninterrupted views.
Lift & slide is the most refined way to open a large glazed elevation. Turn the handle and the sash lifts millimetres off its track, gliding aside with almost no effort — even at sash widths of up to 3.3 metres and weights of up to 400 kg. Lowered back into place, it seals tightly for excellent thermal and acoustic performance. Crafted from engineered FSC®-certified timber, our lift & slide doors bring warmth and permanence to the most contemporary architecture.

Tudor Revival Windows
— Surrey

The primary challenge in this architecturally distinct Arts & Crafts / Tudor Revival residence was replacing the extensive joinery across multi-faceted bay windows without compromising the period aesthetic or suffering from thermal inefficiency. The solution was the comprehensive installation of bespoke, dark-framed timber windows and doors with traditional glazing bars, combining meticulous period craftsmanship with advanced energy-efficient glazing. As a result, the striking deep graphite frames create a refined contrast against the pale render, delivering exceptionally warm and quiet interiors while significantly enhancing the property’s overall market value.

Location: Surrey

Year: 2024

Systems: Large Bay Windows, Casement Windows, French Doors (all bi-colour)

Yes. We fit double and triple glazed units with low-E coatings and warm-edge spacers, with options including acoustic, toughened, laminated and ornamental glass, plus inter-pane or applied glazing bars.

We provide a 5-year guarantee covering the joinery construction, factory-applied coatings, glazing units and hardware (coatings without a UV filter carry a 2-year guarantee). Full guarantee terms are available on request.

In a lift & slide system, turning the handle physically lifts the sash off its seals before it moves — so even very large, heavy panels glide easily, and when lowered the door compresses onto its seals for far better air- and water-tightness than a standard slider.

Bi-folds open the entire aperture but divide the glass into more panels; lift & slide offers larger uninterrupted panes and clearer views when closed, with a more minimal frame presence. Many clients combine both across a project — we’ll help you choose per elevation.

A single sliding sash can be up to 3300 mm wide and weigh up to 400 kg, and sashes can be combined with fixed glazing in multi-sash configurations — letting you glaze very wide openings with remarkably few visible frames.

Yes. Alongside our standard ThermoStep and timber thresholds, we offer low-threshold solutions on request — creating an almost flush transition between interior floor and terrace, with proper drainage detailing to keep weather out.
